What can I expect?
If you are considering changes to a listed or historic property, responding to comments from a Conservation Officer, or simply need to understand the heritage implications before deciding what to do next, an Expert Heritage Consultation provides focused professional advice at an early stage.
Before your appointment, we undertake a proportionate background review so that the consultation can focus on the issues that matter: the significance and sensitivity of the property, potential heritage constraints and risks, and the most appropriate next steps.
The consultation provides high-level professional heritage advice to support early decision-making. It does not replace a Heritage Statement, Heritage Impact Assessment or other formal assessment where one is required.
The service is suitable for homeowners, prospective purchasers, architects, planning consultants, developers and other professionals seeking an early heritage view.
What’s included?
Advance heritage review
Before your appointment, we will undertake a proportionate review of the property and its heritage context, including designation or listing information, conservation context and high-level setting where relevant.
30-minute one-to-one consultation
Your video consultation with one of our heritage consultants will focus on your particular property, proposals or heritage issue. We can advise on matters including heritage significance and sensitivity, potential constraints and risks, comments from the local authority or Conservation Officer, likely heritage requirements and appropriate next steps.
Brief written advice
Following the consultation, we will provide brief written advice summarising the key points discussed and our recommended next steps.
How does it work?
1. Pay
Pay the £150 fixed fee securely online.
2. Choose
Once payment is complete, you will be taken to our booking calendar to choose an available appointment with our expert Heritage Consultant.
3. Tell us
When booking, provide the property address and a brief description of the works, proposals or heritage issue you would like to discuss.
4. Send info
Please email any relevant drawings, photographs, sketches, planning correspondence or other information to info@auroraheritageplanning.co.uk at least 48 hours before your appointment.
5. Review
We will carry out a proportionate background heritage review before the consultation.
6. Meet
Your 30-minute consultation will take place via Microsoft Teams.
7. Written advice
Following the consultation, we will send you brief written advice summarising the key points discussed and our recommended next steps.
Please allow at least 48 hours between booking and consultation to allow for preparation.
What does it cost?
£150 fixed fee
The fee includes VAT and covers the advance heritage review, your 30-minute video consultation and brief written advice with recommended next steps.
Payment, cancellations & rescheduling – consultations are payable in advance. Your fee secures both preparation time and a reserved appointment slot. You may reschedule your appointment once without charge by giving at least 48 hours’ notice. Cancellations are non-refundable. If you arrive late, the consultation will still end at the scheduled time.
