Heritage Impact Assessment for Farm Buildings in Spalford
Successful planning for non-designated heritage assets on a farm in Spalford

We're celebrating a successful planning outcome at Manor Farm in Spalford, where we supported the conversion and extension of two traditional agricultural barns into new residential dwellings.
The barns, which form part of a wider farmstead, are considered non-designated heritage assets. Our role was to prepare a detailed Heritage Impact Assessment, assessing how the proposals would affect the significance of the existing structures and their wider rural setting.
By working closely with the design team and responding to pre-application feedback, we helped shape a sensitive scheme that respected the historic character of the barns whilst meeting modern living needs. The result? A scheme that was found to cause no harm to heritage significance — and a smooth route through the planning process.
We’re proud to have played a part in giving these modest but characterful buildings a new lease of life. Watch this space for more as the transformation progresses!
