Historic Building Recording

Historic Building Recording provides a structured and analytical record of a building prior to alteration, partial demolition or loss. Often required as a condition of planning permission or Listed Building Consent, it ensures that a building’s architectural form, historic development and surviving fabric are properly documented before works take place. The scope and level of recording are tailored to the significance of the asset and the nature of the proposed change.

Aurora Heritage undertakes measured, photographic and written recording in accordance with recognised professional standards, including guidance issued by Historic England. Our reports combine clear visual documentation with concise historical analysis, placing the building within its wider context and explaining its evolution over time. The result is a robust and accessible record that satisfies planning requirements while contributing to the understanding of the historic environment.
